Sand Hills Golf Club Hole by Hole - 2nd Hole

Hole 2 at Sand Hills Golf Club is a challenging par 4 of 458 yards from the Championship tees. At 368 yards from the Pro tees and 284 yards from the Women's tees, this hole still requires precision to score well. The slight dogleg right fairway is 53 yards wide with 3 bunkers on either side. Although there are no greenside bunkers, precision will be key for approach shots into the 13972 sq ft green area.

The altitude in Mullen can cause some issues when hitting tee shots or approaches due to changes in ball flight conditions throughout the year. During summer months, temperatures can reach up to 95 degrees Fahrenheit which will affect how far your drives travel and require longer clubs for approaches than you would normally hit in other climates. In winter months, temperatures drop as low as 20 degrees Fahrenheit causing golf balls to fly shorter distances than usual; adjust accordingly by selecting one club lower on both tee shots and approaches than normal for these conditions. Additionally, wind gusts may occur during all four seasons so it’s important to factor that into your strategy when selecting clubs off of each tee box or onto the green depending on direction and intensity of winds present during playtime
